FaultPilot

Built by Backendly

Backendly builds engineering tools for modern WordPress and web infrastructure. FaultPilot is its flagship reliability product.

Software that treats your site like production

Backendly exists because the gap between “WordPress site” and “production system” is a tooling gap, not a platform gap. Millions of businesses run on WordPress, yet the reliability discipline taken for granted elsewhere — observability, incident management, evidence-driven diagnosis, verified recovery — rarely reaches it.

FaultPilot is our answer: a reliability and recovery engine with the honesty of good infrastructure software. It measures before it claims, states confidence instead of certainty, and treats security as a design input rather than a patch. Every capability on this site ships in the product today — and every limitation is documented too.

engineering principles
1. honesty over spectacle — say “not observable”
   when the data isn’t there
2. every number is measured — no invented metrics
3. evidence, then conclusions — never the reverse
4. least privilege by default — for us too
5. state limits plainly — trust is the product

How we build

Engineering practice, not vibes

Tested in real environments

Before release, FaultPilot survives live QA against real hosting stacks: real fataling plugins, real recovery flows, real uninstall contracts, real multisite networks — with every found bug fixed and regression-tested (dozens of automated scenarios and counting).

Static analysis & standards

The codebase is held to WordPress engineering standards — lint-clean, prepared SQL, sanitized input, escaped output — and passes the official Plugin Check with zero errors, with every intentional exception documented in writing.

Honest documentation

Architecture, security threat model, privacy boundaries and troubleshooting limits are written down and public. If a feature can’t observe something, the docs say so — the same honesty the product shows in its UI.
